-Assess where your business stands today. Be honest with yourself. Line yourself up against your competitors. This is where people lie.

-S.W.O.T Analysis -Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, & Threats

What are the strengths of the business? Don’t say “We are the best we have no weakenesses!” If that’s the case then game over your mindset isn’t in an honest place. Most start businesses because they want to be better or provide an alternative to a service or product they previously experienced. What truly makes you the better choice? Is it price, options, quality? What makes your competitors better than you? Where do your faults lie? Is it yor team, service, communications?

-What are your goals? Realistic ones and big fancy audacious goals! Give a year, 5 and even 10 down the line. Plan to succession if you can.

-Write down your major annual events. Holidays, business trends, expected distractions to the norm or interruptions to the calendar coming up.

-Mark your seasons (slow, busy).

-Plug in promotions, sales, etc.

-Build out content based on your tactics.

-Plot what to advertise and how much you’d like to budget for it. Plan for those reactionary situations. Slower months etc.

-Work with your marketing team to execute.

-Stick with it! Changes are fine but never leave the plan behind. The panick “I think we need to change the campaign, its been a few days and…” Look, your business wasn’t started overnight and you didn’t get in this position overnight. Just sayin.
